My team are very dedicated and help me greatly in maintaining your dental health, and keeping the practice running smoothly. I highly value the great team that we have at the practice, encouraging and motivating each other and ensuring the best possible care for you, the patients.
Matthew Houlton BDS(Sheffield) MFGDP(UK)
Dentist and Principal of the practice (GDC No. 69398)
I’m Matthew Houlton, principal dentist and practice owner of Manor House Dental Practice.
- Qualified from Sheffield dental hospital in 1993.
- Post graduate training with Paul Tipton (Specialist Prosthodontist) from 2005-2007.
- Diploma for Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) 2007.
- Special interest in Orthodontics.
- Yorkshire Deanary Fixed Appliance Training Scheme 2002-2004.
- I have worked at York Hospital’s orthodontic department one session a week since 2009.
- Special interest in Occlusal Studies (the study of temporomandibular disorder including Bruxism).
I have a busy family life but in my spare time I teach Aikido, a martial art, to keep a healthy mind and body. I also swim regularly, and play classical guitar to relax.

Jacqueline Taylor CEB Cert in Dental Hygiene (Edinburgh)
Dental Hygienist (GDC No. 2182)
I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1981 at Edinburgh. I specialise in helping to treat and prevent Periodontal (gum) disease. This involves encouraging and motivating individuals in maintaining good oral health and giving dietary advice.
I have 2 grown up daughters and 3 very energetic grandchildren and I love to spend as much time with them as possible. My many interests include my allotment and gardening, knitting, reading fiction and theatre.
Katie Tooley (Bristol)
Dental Hygienist / Dental Therapist (GDC No. 103786)
I qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist in 2006 at Bristol.
I joined the practice in June 2024. My aim is to treat and support you with the prevention of Periodontal (gum) disease. This involves encouraging and motivating individuals in maintaining good oral health and giving dietary advice.
Outside of work I am kept busy with my family.
Vanessa Stainsby
Practice Administrator & Qualified Dental Nurse (GDC No. 122280)
I’m Vanessa Stainsby the Practice Administrator at Manor House Dental Practice. I am also a qualified Dental Nurse.
I joined the practice in September 2006 as a dental nurse, and was promoted to practice administrator in 2014. After 22 years as a qualified dental nurse, I do on occasion still offer support in surgery.
I am married to Paul, we enjoy walking and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. In my spare time I have started a bespoke silver jewellery business ‘Bumble V jewellery’
Jo Adamson
Dental Nurse (GDC No. 120807)
I’m Joanne Adamson. I am a qualified dental nurse and have worked at the practice since 1989, previously with Mr Peter Wright.
As well as being a dental nurse, I also work on reception. As a member of the team, my aim is to make your visit to the practice as comfortable as possible and to put you at ease.
I have a grown up family, we like eating out and traveling. I also enjoy looking after my great nephew once a week.
Nicky Clark
Dental Nurse (GDC No. 121172)
I’m Nichola Clark. I am a qualified dental nurse and in charge of decontamination within the practice.
I joined the practice in April 2007 having qualified as a dental nurse in 2002. I went on to complete my dental radiography training in 2004. My role within the practice is decontamination lead, providing you with the highest standards of cross infection control, meeting best practice requirements required by the CQC.
Out of work I love biking, walking and travelling to Far East Asia. I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Jade Harrison
Dental Nurse (GDC No. 291681)
I’m Jade Harrison. I am a qualified dental nurse and joined the practice in 2021.
As a member of the team, my aim is to make your visit to the practice as comfortable as possible and to put you at ease. I am currently receiving training to improve my reception skills.
I have a young daughter who keeps me busy. We enjoy swimming and going to the park. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and baking.
Julie Wood
Dental Nurse (GDC No. 125215)
I’m Julie Wood. I am a qualified dental nurse and joined the practice in 2024.
I have a special interest in helping patients feel relaxed and calm when visiting the practice. I gained my special interest when previously working in the community and as a sedation nurse.
I have a grown up family and love to sing!

I am very proud of my team. Their hard work has helped us to achieve and maintain the annual BDA Good Practice status since 2009. This recognises dental practices which consistently meet the high standards set by the British Dental Association.
